Good. I am thinking about 1" back at least but 2" is better.
I have a couple of gates to build so since I will be in the shop more, I can poke at it. I seen that I have the old factory grill I used to help make this one. I am gonna check and see if it has the center support mounting tabs so I can add some to the flame one.
I have another idea. I am not really (and have not) likeing the mesh. I am gonna see if I can put a solid plate behind the face those 2" away. I will leave the sides all open to allow air to pass. I just want to stop any bugs and other debris from a straight shot to the radiator and also cover the view to all that behind the grill area. This plate could also serve as a mounting location for any light effects or horns etc.. Just thinking out loud though, we'll see.

They are there.. The corner flame has a box with a amber bulb behind it.
No. Doesn't look like it. I am gonna try and get it back together and try, but I doubt it will happen. Being that my wife will not drive pulling a trailer..
