I think I have the starvation issue resolved, now it has a lope that acts like the carb is loading up, much like when a choke is stuck. This week, I installed a new rebuilt carb, fuel filter, a clear one to monitor debris and dirty color gas, New points, condenser, cap, spark plugs and wires. I hit the pedal to set the choke and it starts immediately when its cold. Starts just as easy when its hot without touching the pedal, So its not flooding. It will run smooth when first started but after 15 seconds it starts to lope. All vacuum hoses were replaced. The carb is a single barrel so it only has one air/fuel mixture screw. The instructions said not to reset it but I did back out less than a half a turn from where it was and it helped. Sounds like a cam lope. No smoke, no evidence the carb is flooding. I did notice what sounded like a spark click. Rechecked firing order and made certain no wires loose. I did the old school thing and checked it in the dark while running to see if the wires were arching. Nothing.

How does the engine perform when you are driving?

I haven't driven it yet. The last time it was on the road was 1992. I am putting new tires on first. I think it might be the EGR valve, It acts like it trying to flood but isn't Runs perfect when first started for a few seconds which makes sense due to taking that long to start recirculating gas.

check intake with wd40 spray. spray around it. if it gets sucked in, you need to replace.
