I wasn't wearing it at all. But he pulled me over because he could see I wasn't wearing the shoulder strap, and like I previously stated Maryland law says that the car I was driving is exempt and he should have known that, but he didn't, and/or chose to ignore me when I tried to tell him. So pooey on him. He'll have to come to court that day if he wants me to pay the fine. haha

    DaMadMan,

When I got my umm "safety violation citation" The cop who wrote it had the whole day set a side for the court day. In my county, they bunch his court appearances to reduce the time away from writing more ridiculous tickets.

It sounds like you have a good case even if does show. Good luck!

Mine was $108. Not too hard to make up the budget problem

Agreed, but his was $10. Speeding would be a much better revenue source.

Oh, also. The donut eater said this won't be reported to my insurance. Anybody know if this is correct?

Here's what I found as far as ALabama Law, maybe it can help someone else:

So, Alabama Law Requires you to use what the feds require you to have, which is lap OR lap & shoulder belts... I hope Im reading that correct.

I have a 69.5, and I put the 3 point belts in, first for safety, and to stop from getting pulled over. Been pulled about 3 times, but never a ticket. When they see the lap belts, they leave. That shoulder strap will keep them off of you.....If you wear it!!!!!

My shoulder belts are attached to my lap belts, so when you put on the lap belt the shoulder belt automaticly goes on too. The thing is, I never use the shoulder belt. When I click on the lap belt I slip the shoulder belt behind my back. There is a reason why I do this. The shoulder belts on my two Mavericks can not be adjusted for the height of the driver. I am a short person, so when the shoulder belt is in place it does not go across my shoulder. It goes right across my throat. There is no way in hell I'm wearing a shoulder belt that has the potential of breaking my neck or choking me if I should get into an accident. Not only that, it's damn uncomfortable having the edge of a beat belt rubbing against my neck all the time. Plenty of cops have seen me driving my Mavericks this way and none of them have ever made any mention of it.

I am hoping my maverick will have racing buckets and 4 point harnesses when it hits the streets.

Thats the only way i wouldnt mind wearing my seatbelt

My shoulder belts mysteriously disappeared shortly after I brought the Comet home. Weird. It's almost like someone removed them and threw them away.
