    Oops, I ment kit. Sorry...
I do have the old shackles if someone wants them, for shipping + $10 (nearest UPS is 20 miles). They may be weak, but not flat. :D
Dave, them shackles I got have the front bushings and the bolt fit... I was worried about that from other discussions I read. Lined up perfectly too. I just can't wait to get it off the stands to see where she sits.

Just curious....why would you want your tires sticking out more ? Wouldn't you want a properly backspaced rim to keep the tire under the car? I would think large tires sticking out could mess up a decent paint job by kicking up road debris against the quarter panels.

I don't know PAINTANK's reason but I like wide too. I want the look and I will try not to drive over debris... If you are concerned about the paint then I can see what your saying. If I were wanting to "show" it, then, again, I might be concerned. Basicly, I like low and wide... with a slight jacking up in the rear. :)

    :p

Im putting wide tires in the back(255/60 R14), and the way its sitting 60 series tires will rub about 1/2"-1", and I dont want to lower the profile, plus, I like my nose-in-the-weed cars..

The front wheels are on the back right now until I can find tires...these are 60 series tires

I dont know...I might revert back to it later on...I just want to try it out...see how I like it....I'll keep it in the first or second slot....third slot DOES look pretty dangerous to try...the second even looks pretty dangerous...

Like I said Im debating on seriously taking them back...you guys know what youre talking about and I dont, and I dont want to do something that you guys say is dangerous to have.

In your last picture you can actually see how bad the main spring is sagging.

How hard is it to find another set of leaf springs? Any easy-to-find cars I could salvage a set off of?

The "best" way - change the leaf springs. And the "cheapest" way to do that - is this.

I used 3 leafs and raised it back up to about stock height. Use 4 and you'll raise it a little more. Longer ones at the top will have more effect on height and firmness, shorter ones will make it softer.

I think I have them 255-60-14s in the rear also. I have 245-50-14s up front. Looks like we like weeds... :rofl2:

My reasoning is I like 70s custom look. I like small and talls with wide back tires that stick out and not the skinny dragcar tires up front but slightly undersized. Similar to this:

Well even though you've got the shackles and I think you should go forward with em, there is another alternative............helper springs. These bolt onto the rear of the top leaf behind the axle and raise the car an inch or two. I did this with my Comet when I went to the 295/50's on the rear. They also serve to stiffen the springs. The main reason fo using them was I already had em collecting dust since buying them for some other application.
