should i do anything else with the ignition right now?

Get a 75 system.
I have been reading up on the changes made to the systems over the years and like the way the 75 works.
For that year, Ford called it "Solid State Ignition".
In 76 they made changes for emissions and called it Duraspark for the 49 states.
Duraspark 2 was made for California emissions and became standard in 78.
The 75 doesn't have as much variance in timing, and it has the start retard that was later done away with.
