yea definatly. i couldnt fint too many vids or sound clips out there of I6 exhaust out there so hopefully i'll have something worthwhile to add for future refrence.
no im just trying to pave the way for i6 owners that dont want to drop a ton of money on a built engine and just want to bolt up a few cheap things to make it a little quicker and sound a little cooler
i would bolt up a header if they wernt $400 bucks... with that kinda money i can get new frame mounts and cheap 302 headers
another thing to take note of when i pulled my muffler off i got under there to take a look at everything and i noticed some light surface rust starting on the inside of the frame rail. nothing a little sanding and and a few coats of paint cant handle. i pulled the muffler hanger off the frame rail too and there was some rust starting in there too between the 2 surfaces. just something to keep in mind for you guys that still have original stuff hanging under there like i did
im trying to find turbo muffler clips on youtube but there all ricers with them. i guess they see the word turbo and think there for a import heres a jeep with the same brand muffler i got. its probably a straight 6 too
you can alway go this route with a mufflershop glasspack.. [ame="http://videos.streetfire.net/video/13305dfe-e746-4aeb-9617-998b01778520.htm"]very nice sound.. - Video[/ame]
I have always thought cheap 'ol glasspacks were the best you could do for a 6 cylinder. Had them on a 280ZX for years, loved them. Even put them on a Suzuki Samurai and it was pretty neat. Did not sound riced at all. I have had them on a 4 cyl Chevy LUV truck for years before that. Still sounds like a wimpy 4 or 6 cylinder engine, but it gives it a little "growl"... By the way, I really like how that video was done. Hear it coming and going, and what it sounds like right under it...
i ran glass packs right behind the headers on my v8 buick and i hated it. felt like my brain was melting. then again i might cut out that area where my cat is and splice one in at some point. never made it out to put the muffler on today. i did go and pick up that '68 cougar tho
nah its dark out right now lol its wrecked anyway, but just to tie you over heres a shot of it BEFORE it got hit he got taged in the passengerside fender. its really rusty anyway. im gonna make a few bucks on parts and call it a wrap coencidently under its black spray paint its the same color yellow thats under the black spray paint on my maverick
