So, take the motor totally apart, look at the cylinders...........probably hasn't been bored.............what does the crank/rod bearings look like. It is
a roller cam'd motor so at least you have that going for you.
What do you want to do with the motor, build it back stock or put some muscle in it......................how much do you want to spend.
I would take it to a machine shop (one you trust) and have it cleaned, mic the cylinders and see what the tapper is, mic the crank and for sure you'd have to have the rods resized and probably put ARP rod bolts in...........and
have it line honed................if the crank bore/crank isn't perfectly straight
you'll eat up the bearings...........just a part of making sure you have a good bottom end and it's the normal part of blue printing...........which should be done when you rebuild any motor anyway..............IMHO
Also, and most important......................what is your budget on this motor?

Actually the '86 & '87 LSC Lincoln 5.0 HO used the flat top, no relief pistons as well, but admittedly that's splitting hairs... I have one of those in my 5.0 Bird with Trick Flow heads on it... Yeah I know seems odd the LSC didn't get the E7 heads in '87 like the Stang, but still used the E6... '87 was a short run for the LSC, switched to 'E7 headed HO in Feb '87 but those are VINed as '88... 15 years ago the Mark VII Lincolns were the best bet of finding a decent used HO, most of the Stangs were beat to death...
