    Never tried a Uni-bit for a trunk lid, but I use them every day at work and they are great. If you drill small pilot holes first (like 1/8"), I would think a Uni-bit would work great...

    I dont think a unibit would work because your not drilling flat metal. By time you got to the top and bottom of the hole, the sides would be much bigger. Unless the largest size it cuts is 1".
