Mine is auburn as well, think I paid $60. I thought the same thing...keep the spiders, if I don't like it, I can go back.

Then I threw away the spiders. Just never thought I would go back to them.

I never noticed the steering wheel trying to self-center anymore than normal.

I sometimes hear a little scuffing when I make a very sharp turn, or if I turn in gravel. It was much louder and pronounced when I was driving on bald tires.

I also purposefully scored a straight line in both the axles when I put the spool in. I figured that after a year, I would pull them out and verify that they are not twisting. This year, I took them out and verified that there is no twist on them after more than 3 years.

I understand that, but when I first put the spool in, I got all kinds of warnings that just the friction of the tires during sharp turning on the road would be enough to twist em. So I tested it out. No worries, now...

I shoulda put a smilie in there so you wouldn't think I was getting sore...

I tell you, though, everyone had me so worried that I was going to twist an axle just driving it around town. It felt good and a relief to pull them out and see that they were perfectly straight...:bouncy:
