Dixie Maverick is NOT an official club or anything, its just sort of a name we use when refering to everyone in Georgia and its surrounding states with Mavericks and Comets (or has interest in them) Dan Hines hosts a site www.dixiemaverick.com

Yes I`m in Macon, so is Frank (71gold) and Kelly(doesn`t come here much.)
I don`t think any of the Georgia residents usually stay in a Hotel we just drive to the track the morning of the event. Ray and some of the others have stayed in hotels in the past. If you come to the event you will not regret it.

I may be wrong but I believe that price is per person. Seems like I paid about $90 for me and the wife.

Heck yes, we have "mini meets" all the time. You just missed the Dixie Maverick Christmas party back in December. We had that in Stockbridge, GA. We also usually have a meet at the last cruise in of the year at the Tanger Outlet Center in Locust Grove, GA, which is in mid-October. Then, through out the year we usually have random smaller meets where it'll just be maybe 2, 3 or 4 of us get together for lunch or whatever.

$45 is if you want to enter your car in the show to be judged. In past years, I've just told them at the gates I don't want to enter my car in the show, I'm just parking with the Dixie Maverick guys, and it's been a little less. I can't even remember what I paid last year?

I`ve never heard of anything going on down in south Ga.

We MAY try to do something in The Macon/Warner Robins area this year if the details can ever get nailed down.

At the event in Comerce (FFW) there will be SEVERAL of our cars on display with Factory paint (mine for one) and a few with primer,or maybe even Earl Shieb type paint jobs.
Don`t let that stop you from bringing tyhe car if you`d like.

Every year I contemplate weather or not if I should bring my car due to its "Original"
draw backs and flaws ...and I always end up bringing it any way. Frank says he believes many people LIKE seeing cool cars with original (flawed) paint or seeing a car with primer on it here and there that is a "work in progress"... Based on the comments I`ve heard the spectators at the shows make, I believe he is right.

the only thing that would keep me from going to the ffw event is if i cant finish the 308 in time... the only thing i meant by the original paint is i wont be entering it in a car show anytime soon haha... but i do have no problem showing it off... it may be ugly but its my pride and joy... i look forward to going... it will be the first maverick event ive been to and ive been into them for years... actually finding this forum made me realize i wasnt crazy
