Keep my stock look? Thinking about adding a CD player to my Maverick but would like to have it hidden somewhere. Don't want to touch my current AM Radio I love it and listen to it during the day. The radio station I listen to goes off the air at dusk.. I have two ideas and I am looking for input. I could put it in the trunk and use a remote... add two rear speakers and call it a day... problem with this is can't really change CDs while driving. This would be the easist method though. Put a standard FM/CD player in glove box and still add two rear speakers and run the wires to the trunk. This would be really cool because it would be fun when some passengar goes to dig through my glove box and finds a fancy looking CD player. Not sure how exactly I would mount this one. Input Please. Hey Country whats with the 10's i have two sony explode 12's, two sony explode 6x9's in rear dash, and am getting txo explodes to go under the kickpannels now that i know that there is a space there. and it still aint loud enough
Daytime Only AM We used to have one around here. They must shut off their transmitter at nite to avoid interference with another station on the same frequency. "Clear Channel" stations, like 700 WLW out of Cincinatti don't have to worry about it....they are the only station assigned to 700 AM...hence, they are on a clear channel. Other stations are able to get on the "air" if they agree to shut down at nite.....all so you can hear a Ft. Wayne, Indiana station down in Mississippi at nite!!
Hehe, I like it loud too Hanible If you still ain't loud enough.........go with Rockford Fosgate. That'll get you L-O-U-D!!!!!!! :bananaman IMHO Punch is the best on the market. Very High Quality I'm about to swith to all Punch (Rockford) subs......... And a bandpass box...............lol I just bought a new Pioneer CD deck also.............And built a back dash for four 6 x 9's...........so I'm working on a good quality sound too..........And I still got AM............. I thought the front speaker in the dash was a 4x10...... you usually have to buy them in pairs...... kinda useless when there is only one hole..... I have a nice set of 6x9 Boston Accoucstics to go into the rear and I didn't know about the kick panels till I read the post but now I am gonna have to buy another set of speakers, I also have a pair of 12" Phoenix Gold Xmax that I have pounded for a few years to go into the trunk but I kinda have a question for those people that have a fuel cell in the trunk.... How much room do you actually still have in the back?
Hey Squall, those bostons are sweet. I have boston Pro 5.5 up front and bostons RX97 6x9s. As for theives I park the car at my fathers where he guards it w/ a double 12. LOL My dad and I both put alot of blood sweat, and tears into it.
Radio help I also have a ?. I have a 73 mav. and the hole for the radio is HUGE. and at such a slant there is no where I can realy see mounting a radio in it. There was no raido in it when I bought it. So I hopnestly have no idea on how tto instal a nice system into my Mav. Any idea on where to get a kit that will fit and actualy work. My local AutoZone and Walmart does not even have such a thing on there shelves that would even come close to fitting.
