Just a little fyi, my car has fiberglass leaf springs in the stock location, cal-trac bars and qa1 shocks that have been moved to behind the rear end. Pretty close to stock. best 60' is a 1.32

    EZ street car?

Ez Street style car? It had power windows, locks, power lumbar seats, a nice stereo with amp and sub, automatic overdrive trans, BFG drag radials, and ran on pump gas... cruise rpm at 70 was around 2300rpm. How does that qualify as an "Ez Street style" car? Stock upper control arms, shocks, springs, struts... just K-member and lower control arms changed. Somehow having a cage and a healthy motor takes away from it being a street car? The engine had a hydraulic roller in it, and I never so much as pulled the throttle body or valve covers over the three years of racing and thousands of miles of street miles on it. It was just a fast, well thought out street car, that is it! At 3400lbs, it went 1.39/6.28, believe the mph was 112 but I am away visiting family and not in my office. Was driven to the track up to two hours away every time... only trailored it to Bowling Green, which is 7 hours away.

This is the question i was answering, Yes a stock LEAF SPRING suspension can be made to work, It can be made to pull 1.3 60 ft. times in a 3500# car. I also do a lot of suspension work on the fox bodied cars, To me they are easier because of the adjust-ability of their suspension. A four bar car will naturally out hook a leaf spring car, with minimal work, just because of what it is. I dont know how the tread got off the subject ,but as far as me this is my last post on this topic, ( if you want details of my setup just pm me) Thanks

Body Seperation (AKA leaf spring seperation) is what you DO NOT want....that is loss of motion.....the body should go forward, not up....

Same as a wheelie, it may look cool, but you are going up and not forward.

The late model mustang has a natural advantage in that all it takes is a set of bolt on adjustable bars and you can change instant center, pinion angle, etc....much harder to do on a leaf spring car. You can make a leaf spring car hook just as hard as a mustang, but, IMO it takes much more time and effort.
