I went to the track friday night on street tires and a street tune and went 7.90's. I need a new set of hoosiers. Last year it went some 7 teens on slicks. I made some changes but im not sure which way i went yet.lol

I beg to differ sir mine spins 7500 frequently with a hyd cam. I cant say with scientific evidence it makes as much power or even can but, if you shift it alot sooner it slows down. I talked to several cam mfg's and the one thing thay all said is with the right springs it will go as far as you like.

I have heard of Hyd Rollers with special lifters and springs spinning to 7800rpm but as a norm I would agree with Lonnie. Not often you see a hyd flat tappet spin to that rpm and have any longevity. The other issues is valves ad valve seats being beat to death.

I will say Jimmy2Gates you are asking alot. If you pull it off great but IMO opinon a car that runs in the 7k or less rpm range is just as effective, more durable, and more street friendly.

I am buliding mine to sing to 8k with a predefined purpose. :D

I agree with the durability part but ,i also should say i have titanium retainers and a 1.94 race valve. I works fine and has for awhile but im sure it would last longer at a lower rpm.

This is a repeat of info, but call a cam company, tell them your engine, tranny, and rear end specs. Tell them the what, where, and how you intend to drive the car. You'll get the cam to fit your car.
