Woohoo.. glad you posted that, I was gonna get one for my new 347.. figured it couldn't be that bad.. wrong!!

HEY!!? I have two AMF Harleys and I belong to the Boilermakers Union .. and I don't care much of either of them. I do like the looks of the AMF's though.

Glad I found this thread, just about bought one myself since Summit dropped the price to $179 in the last catalog. Won't be wasting my money there, will just get the rpm air gap from edlebrock like had planned to do in the first place. You know what they say if it sounds to good to be true, probably is. Hence the $50 drop in price!

I thought they were substantially cheaper than 179?

My neighbor just picked up a Wieand Stealth from Summit.
    The quality was exceptional!
The casting and machining were far above and beyond even any Edelbrock I have ever owned.

Actually the $179 was last month's sale price, this month the stage 3 is $199.95. The stage 2 is $129.95 and the stage 1 is also $129.95.

Which now means the edelbrock is only $35 more, and apparently a lot better made. Now for the show guys and gals, the polished air gap from EB is $385.95.

Glad I found this thread as well, was going to get a summit intake/carb kit in order to save some coin over an Edelbrock, as the two seemed identical on paper. Now that I've seen the actual factuals, I won't mind eating beans for a month to recoup the cost of a quality product. Thanks again for the heads up, I would have been absolutely furious with myself if I went with my first inclination..:thumbs2:

It makes me wonder about the ProComp Electronics intake now. They make a nice looking single plane for $154.99, and claims it makes 14 hp more then the Victor intake?

    Anyone know?

First pic says it all. Made in China. Absolute trash. That intake is only worth the cost of scrap weight. They should be ashamed of themsleves selling that crap. Do they not have any pride in their company.
I made the mistake of trying a Pro Comp fuel regulator on my car. It ran for one hour then quit at my street corner. I limped it home to find out the regulator was junk. I can change fuel pressure from 1-5 psi just by tapping the regulator. I didnt realize it was imported. It went back to the speed shop but it took a nasty email to pro-comp to get credit from the store. Bottom line is the stores shouldnt sell it.

Thanks, I will be spending the extra money for the "Victor JR" lol...

Well like a friend of mine at a race shop said, " go with the edlebrock, I know it works and makes power."

Hmmm, you've got a Chinese electronics manufacturer trying to make cast aluminum intake manifolds for American engines.

The 'real deal' parts are only a bit more than the 'junk' copies...
I figure 'what's 50 bux if you are going to have the part for years?'...
Even if you only have it for 5 years, that's only 10 bux a year more.
Skip the Big M Supper Club a couple times and you have your better part.
