Actually It will. The base circle is the same. The reason they use reduced base circle cams in non hydraulic blocks is because the lifter bores are not tall enough. You can switch to a non roller with out any complications on a roller block. Ford did just that from the factory. They also had some roller cams that used the old 302 firing order instead of the HO or 351w firing order as it has become to be known. The block I used from an 87 Crown Vic was a HYD roller but was the old 302 firing order. The cams were worthless for performance point of view. Just a good candidate to build a good street/strip motor with.
Yes, they can but I wouldn't do it on a mostly performance build,think of all the money you have put in to it already. Stock should be fine. I have seen guys use them in 2 or 3 rebuilds. Just spin the roller and as long as they feel smooth ,and pump up they should be just fine.
