I tell you why they are so popular. They NEVER lost their looks. Mavericks have a design that does not resemble any other car out there.

I am on my 5th Maverick with the 2 I have now. My first car was a 1970 Ford Maverick that I bought in 1973. For me there is alot of great memories associated with Mavericks.

When the few laugh I laugh back at them when I tell them I have no car payments on either of my Mavericks, liability only insurance at $25 per month and tags at $22 per year (In Arizona that's a big deal). With the outrageous price of new cars these days with high insurance and tags I would just rather get a really good condition old car and fix it up and I can think of no better car than a Maverick.

And by the way my 18 year old daughter's boyfriend has a grabber. That got him many points in my book.

i wish i could say i've been getting as many coments as you guys but i aint got mine out on the road yet and it's been sitting in a garage on our farm so no one sees it

a few of my friends who are into mussle type cars didn't even know what it was when they first saw it but after they looked at it they thought it was cool

but "one" of my friends who likes the bowtie pos's calls it a stretched out pinto.

as far as people knowing what a mav is i've only found a few people around here who even know what a mav is and the only reason they know is because they eached had a mav when they were kids (i think a few got 69.
5's new) that just goes to show how unknown the mave is around here

I don't know if mystique is the right word, but they are rare enough these days to get some attention. Older guys tell me about the one in high school, younger ones just want to know what it is.

There are so many stories about the Maverick being unknown yet I spent $180.00 for a Hot Wheels Mighty Maverick with red line tires in excellent condition, without the package! I also have to others in different colors in average condition. The nice one I got from ebay. Biding was extensive. I was lucky to get one! Bids were up to $500.00. Mavericks are among the most desired in the world of vintage Hot Wheels. All of the Maverick toys/models I see on ebay and toy shows sell for a premiun price! If they say they never herd of a Maverick, Well there putting out good money for the toys!:)

I think that's us fools buying the stuff on ebay not everybody else. ;) I had to put a cap on what I'd pay for one of those... consequently I don't have a nice one. I picked up a beater/fixer-upper for five bucks, that at least rolls good. I've seen pretty beat up ones go for more, I got lucky.
