The SnowballEffect on Mavericks

I buy or trade for parts cars,"just in case".Including the "good" ones I'm up to 16 and a friend of mine the other day told me of a '70 2dr w/A/C sitting in a barn.I feel a need to save them if possible because here in GM country people are still sending them to the shredder. I don't want to pay $300 for a fender after they're all gone & someone figures out how to capitalize on parts for old '70's sub-compacts.: Does that count:confused:

 

Sheesh, I thought I was the only one with this problem...

 

Yeah, I sure can relate! It all started when I inherited my moms Maverick, told the wife it sure would make a good car of me to use as a work car and we could put my then 15 year old daughter there for cheaper insurance. The cheaper insurance scheme worked but the then we told the wife all we need was a little up scale paint job to get rid of that coat of rust it was wearing!!! Next thing she knows is we have 7k into it and still have 5k more before I finished!! Not to mention the 2k rabbit chase I had when the little ole lady going to the casino hit me. Then I had a chance to upgrade to the 302 $$$$$$$ I can’t wait till I find the next project, been looking at some dash upgrades…………………………………………oh by the way I now have a 14k Maverick, a big difference from the $1995 my mom paid for it.
