The true cost of cheap gauges

    I THINK I BOUGHT THE SAME GAUGES AS YOU ! is it 3 small ones i think they wer 20$ and my water temp gauge dosent work some times and the lights wer very dim then they started to burn out one by one ! look at my pics to see if they are the same one's there should be a rule's about building crap

    The ammeter seems to be accurate enough, I checked that with my multimeter. I don't have a way to check the oil pressure gauge, but what it's telling me seems sane. The temp gauge is junk though. All of them will be replaced soon.

    stewart warner makes good guages as well they have been around a long time.

    At 103.00 you got off cheap it could have cost you a lot MORE like the cost of a motor replacement .

    Doing it for a living I dont trust any in car gauge. Have to verify with a known good thermometer or IR. A good IR gun should be in a car guys garage. It has so many uses. I highly suggest it. When I run a car I have my thermometer in the rad and I use my IR gun to monitor the temp below the stat If I am burping out air. When the sat opens and it burps I top it off and seal it. Then use the IR gun to verify fan on temp.
