They list them for Mustangs, but of course they will fit our cars. I have been planning on getting a set for a while now also. Got other things to take care of first though.
Will all the factory stuff bolt up the same? I have the right offset rims & tire combo perfect at this point with not alot of room the changes. Also I have lowered the car & the fender is right above the tire. Will drop spendles change that or will the whole front end come down 2 inches? When I changed the springs, just the car came down. You can look at the pic to see how close the tire & fender is.
I have had the Fat-Man drop spindles before, they are nice peices. Streetrod, you upgrade to the 11" granada brakes and it will lower the car 2 more inches, but here is the great thing, if you like the ride heigth now you can add a spring that would add 2 inches of lift to get you back to the ride heigth you are at now. So.... that gives you 2 more innches of spring travel and a better ride. If you like the ride you have now and want to be lower just swap in the spindles. when I bought them they were $425 and that was in '97', but I haven't checked them out in awhile.
I thought the 77 Mavericks & Comets had 11 inch rotors. I like the ride now. It is very stiff & don't sway any. I would like to get the frame lower but not the body. The body is about low as I can get it on 17 inch wheels & still be able to turn without scrubbing. So are these what people call Mustang II drop spendles?
Nice rims Very nice wheels. What are they off of and what year? I did notice the Cobra caps but won't just assume that they are Mustang.
They are mustang look alikes. I think now that Ford has change something now so companines cant use the ford or cobra sign anymore. They are replica wheels but with the right offset for our cars kind of. I got them in 2005 so things have changed since then.
I will have to check my papperwork to see if they still have them. I dont know if you noticed the the back are larger & wider than the front. They back wheel are everywhere. Mustang Tuning I know carry them. They are for 94+ mustangs. My car has been tubbed so the fit right on. This is the only way to get them on without wheel spacers. From what I was told http://www.musclecarsusa.com/ also have wheels with the right backspacing for our cars. I just looked at the site. They have this wheel too. You will have to call & see what offset they have. You will need a 4.25-4.5 inch backspacing for an 8 inch wide rim. I
No these are not Mustang II spindles, these are spindles that bolt right onto our cars. I don't know about the 77 rotors that might be right. Never seen some one want to do a body raise to get the frame lower. These spindles would lower the whole car, you can't lower the frame on a Mav without also lowering the body as they are one. Do you have a front sway bar? These spindles allow you to get low without putting you rball joints in a bind also. Just things to think about.
Thanks for clearing that up or me Wardf. I dont want to raise the car, just lower it. I measured my exhaustl to night & I dont think I can get anylower with the 2 1/2 inch exhaust under the car without rubbing something on speed bumps. Air ride might be the only way to go at this point.
That is one of the cool things about the strut set up you can run late model mustang Shockwaves from air ride in place of the strut, just like th eEbay mustang. you get the ride, you can lower or raise it for the drive, you can run big brakes (late model mustang) run much better bushings and bearings in the front because its all based on the late model mustang set up.
