    Seriously though...You should use the Export braces (cowl supports) Install a montecarlo bar as well...It really does help.

    They are necessary in my opinion. They are ugly for sure, but like mentioned, they make good parts and tools holders lol. Because they are bolted in they really are not "in the way". They are in the view more than that. Did I mention they are ugly? Even chromed is ugly..

    Well..............I've owned a number of early Mustangs and can tell you they do make a difference, especially if you use a clutch. Take the braces off and have someone on the inside of the car standing on the brake pedal or pushing in and out on the clutch................watch the firewall area............put them back on and watch again.
    Or, take them off and jack up the front of the car and place the jack stands at the front of the subframe just infront of the door.............then try and put them on while the car is jacked up................you can't because the front end has now sagged almost a 1/2"................and the holes in the shock towers will no longer line up.......................Ford Engineers put them there for a darn good reason.....IMHO
