Never heard of a "Twister" Ford anything before, but it's sounds like it would have been cool on a Maverick. I think the guy is wrong. Nice photoshop work Bradleygt.

Old thread, but http://www.maverickcorral.com/ on the part out page has a maverick that has what looks to have twister graphics on the back of it. Anyone ever ask about that one?

I heard a rumor that some of those rumored "Twister" Mavericks were made with rumored Shelby Mavericks that were rumored to be equipped with Boss 302 engines.

Now, lets all freak out and go searching for the rare, elusive and non-existant Shelby Grabber Twister Boss-302 Maverick!!

(Remember, just because it's non-existant doesn't mean it was never made.....well, it does,.... but as lovers of Mavericks both real and mythical, we can ignore that part!)

Hey, I hear in 1968, they made a California Special Maverick....and since Mavericks weren't made until late 69, that makes them REALLY rare!

and they had Cobra Jet motors in them!!

Supposedly, Steve McQueen bought a couple in special order Green paint to use as his car in the movie Bullitt, but Ford made him use a Mustang as part of their conspiracy to build all sorts of special edition Mavericks, never sell any of them, and erase all evidence of their existance from history.

and that's not even counting all the racing Mavericks,...like the Thunderbolt 427 Maverick and Cammer 427 Maverick factory drag cars,.....

    oh, and all the NASCAR Mavericks....the Indy car Mavericks....Don Garlits' "Swamp-Mavs" 1, 2, 3 and 4

and of course, the pick-up van bodied "Little Red wagon" wheelstander was actually a Maverick......it's obvious,... Bill Golden's nick-name is "Maverick"

and let's not forget the Mavericks secretly sent to Chevy dealerships for modification....the Yenko Mavericks and the Baldwin/Motion Mavericks.....the Mavericks Dodge fitted with Hemi engines, the Ferrari Mavericks, military Mavericks and the Maverick of the Covenant that Moses used to haul around the 10 commandments!

Oh, and the alien Maverick that crashed at Roswell

    Have I missed any?

I'm sure Craig can explain about that car, it's his website you got it off. If it was anything of value (a.k.a. Real) I'm sure he wouldn't have cut it up.

    :hmmm:
I didn't see the High Country Special Maverick for the Colorado Market. Or the Kemp Maverick they might have done before they did the Mustang II one. Then there was the IMSA Maverick they tested out.
Or the Spoiler II Comets, or the Black Magic Mercury Comets.
I heard they were working on a high output Maverick with a Yamaha engine, but canceled it after they already ordered the engines so they just used them in the SHO- anyone see a prototype Maverick SHO anywhere? Not to be confused with the turbo 4 Maverick SVO they were working on.
I did hear a few Mavericks were sent to IH and converted to SSII Mavericks.

They actually made a few different Torino's for specific regions. I remember the Twister because there was one floating around here in the early 80's and I had a 70 Type N/W years ago that I wish I still had. It was orange, 351 4V auto and I was told it originally had a shaker. It was also the formal roof rather than the fastback and sported a bech seat. Should not have sold it!
