Wait another Carbon Fiber Hood?

    Anybody know how paintable these hoods are? Any special tricks other than primer?

    Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
    you can paint them just fine. any body man can do it. obviously the gel coat need to be buffed up a tad but other then that you paint guy should know what to do.

    Yeah.. as Maverick Man already said.. treat is as you would any fiberglass hood for the prep.

    I would however highly recommend using a premium clearcoat as they tend to have better UV protection packaged in. Maintaining a good paint sealer/wax film would be helpful too.

    I wish we could get some vents in the front of the stock hood. Would work to let heat escape at stop lights.

    as usual very nice just one problem.............NO COMET HOODS AVAILABLE.

    when my car is done Ill be looking for one with a big hole in the middle:D
