First car was a '61 Studebaker "linear sedan". Rusted everywhere, kite string for piston rings, and a bent spindle. Paid $75 for it, drove it a year, and it finally died. My first Mav was in '72, a Sprint, which I wish I did not sell. Had a GTO, Hemi-Roadrunner, and a few more, but miss that Sprint more than any of them. Oh, well.....

M.A.V.; Yeah, kinda makes you sick to think you sold it for what was then a good price. I sold the car for $6000.00, in 1972. That's when I bought the Sprint. Oh well,

yep my first car was a 1972 Grabber, that was parked behind a shed and set for about 10 years. i bought it for $50 bucks too, (seems to be a trend).

a few years later and we have end result.........well not really the end. but had it for 4 years now. although i'm only 19.

1st thing I drove regularly was a 68 jeep cj5, my first car I had the displeasure to have to pay for was a 71 toyota corolla(thanks to my dad not wanting me to have anything I'd get into trouble with)(like that worked):slap: I wanted a friend of his 67 chevelle that was for sale. so much for want.couldnt kill that damn toyota no matter how hard I tryed;) ......a few years and a few cars later bought my grannys comet,.thats the one that started this insanity.

My first car was not a Maverick, but it was the first car I did the nasty in with my girlfriend.

It was also the first car I ever drove down the quarter-mile (my brother's 302 Sprint).

Man, I miss that car! :p

I knew that's what you were talking about Rick...same thing happened to me. I guess that's why I've been hanging on to it for the last thirty years. Those tasty treats!!! :D

    First Maverick

My first new car was 1974 Maverick Grabber! I ordered it new and took delivery in August ,74! I was 17 years old and in the 11th grade. The car was red/black, 302, automatic, bucket seats, floor shift power steering, dics brakes, tinted glass and AM/FM stereo! It was $3800 on the A plan ordered under my Dads name! Make no mistake though, I paid for the car myself! I had a decent part time job whitch became full time after graduation. After a year of everyday use, I bought a 69LTD and used the Maverick for pleasure only until 8/88 when I deciced to sell it for a new Mustang GT(a big mistake). I got $5000 for my Maverick though, more then I paid for it new! I sold the GT 5 years later and started looking for another '74 Maverick Grabber. In 2002 I found the one I have now a white/black Grabber orginal 33,000 miles, 302/auto, air, deluxe interior, vinal top, power steering, disc brake, AM radio! I believe finding this car was a blessing, and a prayer answered! This one I will keep! Joe
