Just heard back again from the seller ... told them I need black carpet for a 71 2-door. There reply was correct carpet would be loop and 2 pieces. She said she was not aware of the floor differences with the cat convertor. I replied back explaining the hump in the floor. I also asked if the carpet is bound at the overlapping end. Good chance I may order one of these to replace the ACC in my Grabber ...

Cool .. here is there reply ... looks like no cat hump in their mold ...

"Our mold apparently is for the early models and is 2 piece for your year."

Dan, when/if you replace your carpet again, what you gonna do with your old carpet? My carpet is badly worn and faded and I don't need nothin special/perfect fitting for this daily driver.

The one I bought for my Grabber does not fit as nice as I would like.

I put a 2 piece carpet I ordered from Napa in just before the FFW a few months ago...
It sucks, the fit was terrible and it had a hump in it where the factory floor shifter goes.
I have some new carpet to put in laying in my den floor I ordered from these folks...the 500 series 80/20...I can tell before even installing it it's a much better grade and mold, the padding is much better too. It is a single piece mold but I like that better.

OK ... gonna order it ...

It comes standard with plastic binding on the overlapping edge of the 2-peice carpet. I can request optional serge binding which I will do .... I will report when I get it and have it installed ...

FYI ... according to ACC website serge binding is what they put on Mustang 2-peice carpets. If you do a google search you will see pictures of it ... basically give it a nice finished edge ..

I was goin to order from acc again for my 72 but would prefer the company you are goin to deal with if you say the fit is better than ACC... didnt think their was any other suppliers of carpet around.. thks.. RON:)

Okay, here's what I wanna know:
Of those who's carpet fit well, was it the cut-pile or the loop-pile? I'm wondering if there is a difference in fit between the two styles...

    A little off topic
i've got original carpet (2 peice, great shape) but the mat I have is dry-rotting and I don't think it's original (a brown, one-peice number). All of the sites I've looked at online don't have my color (avocado). I'd prefer original but I know it's a longshot. Am I relegated to junk yards or what? Any Suggestions?
