umm lots of red flags going up here. your welding steel. you can not weld aluminum or copper to steel. this is some very difficult welding that your trying to do. before you pick up the tools, pick up a book. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Welders-Handbook-Complete-Oxyacetylene-Welding/dp/1557882649"]Amazon.com: Welder's Handbook : A Complete Guide to Mig, Tig, Arc & Oxyacetylene Welding (Hp1264) (0075478012640): Richard Finch: Books[/ame]

that will help you understand what your doing. if you put too much heat into those pannels they will warp and you will have more problems than when you started.

My roof is really bad too....vinyl top hid the rust. I am going to do a full roof replacement.

ya thats pretty much why i gave up. Its cleaned pretty well, but ive pretty much decided to wait until i can get someone that can show me hands on how to do it. In the mean time ill probably just pull it out of the shop and tarp it until then. I still have 2 other vehicles that i can work on...though ide much rather work on my current one. But...oh well, its been sitting since '06...not like any more time makes a difference.
