I had no reason to expect I wasn't covered. Afterall, me and my brother pay for the insurance on the car... Extreamly doubtful my license would get suspended. My parents did have insurance on the car, my name just wasn't listed on the policy. Now if the car had no insurance and wasn't registered, it would be a diffrent story. Anyways, I've done said to much. Anyone else has anything negative to say, I'll delete the thread. I've got enough to worry about right now.
"Someone failed to tell you? Are you sure you even have a legal drivers license?" :chillpill When I was 17, I drove an old Ford my dad gave me and was using to teach me cars. It was given to me as my first car, but was owned by my parents 'on paper'. I was insured, but not because I paid it any mind. I ran into problems when I got pulled over for malfunctioning turn signal. My tags were 8 months expired! Then they found I had no proof of insurance, registration, or even driver's license on my person. I got so many tickets that night that I had to get bailed out of jail, I was mug shotted, printed, etc... Everything was dropped when I showed proof of everything being either right at the time or fixed by court date. Of course, even though it was my car, I blamed my parents for not keeping up with the paperwork. I reasoned that it was in their name, so it was their responsibility. Yes, I was a dumb kid. Yes, I was a jerk about it. We were all dumb kids at one time. Maybe not about this exact issue, but dumb enough about something that we might be better off giving advice and leaving it at that. To scold someone else's child/young man for the same dumbness we had is kinda rough. This will be his learning experience. Different than ours. At least no one died in this learning experience. That is all that matters. Just my .02 Dave
wow First time I've opened the site in quite awhile and this is definetly bad news. I drive the same roads you do everyday and you truly do take your life in your hands around here. Hope it works out and just keep in mind you were probably lucky to have the protection of a Maverick around you when facing a Navigator. If you were in some of the newer cars your injuries could have been much worse. Hang in there. Jon
Jamie, I just read about your accident. Like everyone else said, be thankful that you and Chrissy were not seriously injured. Both of you were able to walk away. The Maverick took all the damage to protect the people inside. Chrissy was very lucky the SUV hit the fender and not the door. You'll fix it someday. Your Maverick deserves to live again. It did a good job protecting you, and you should return the favor. Roz
Cut the kid some slack. I have learned "harder lessons" in life and if you haven't then you are either lucky or a lair....... :16suspect
Lair? As in the "king's lair?" My everyday lair is down in the basement. Janie's lair is at his Grandfather's house. Jesjokinwidya.
typo Hawko...... My lair consists of chains and whips......:evilsmile and long legged blondes begging for another spanking Should have been "Liar"
Purely fantasy....... Reality is I have a nice Korean girl that I have been married to for 3 years this Jan dated 2 years before that. SHe's not into whips and chains
This post is starting to meander off topic a little bit. I wish I had a lair. My next house is not going to compromise on the basement or garage!!
Yep, I've been at my "lair" for the past couple of weeks. And I'm happy to say the '72 is rolling under it's own power. I've put a couple of miles on it just driving around my grandpa's fields. I'm about 75% done with the brakes, should be done with them tomarrow if it dosen't snow. It's got the engine out of my '74 Grabber in it. I thought the block was cracked in the wreck makeing it smoke, but it turns out the vaccum modulator messed up and it was sucking ATF into the intake through the vaccum lines, makeing it smoke. The wrecked '74 has been my music provider since I have yet to pull my stereo system out of it. Just roll the windows down and crank the volume up to about 50 and you got music all over the whole field. I just have a piece of wire running out to the battery now from the radio since most of the under hood harness is now in the '72. Gotta have music up here, otherwise you would just go insane from the quietness. So I got to finish up the brakes and exaust, do a little re-wireing (got most of the original wireing working), and I'll be ready to bring it home. Man, I'm ready to go home. There is one radio station here. They play country all week and 30's and 40's "big band" type music on Sundays. I'm haveing 96 Rock withdraws... I'm really dreading how much make up work I'm going to have at school... zoojon, how true is that. I've tried to tell people online before what it's like to drive around there, but no one seems to quite understand. I have came to the conclusion you have to live in Gwinnett to understand what it's like to drive in Gwinnett.
