    Good work!
You mean a new dash pad cover? If you found a new dash pad... you better lock that bad boy up at night. :yup:

I appreciate your feedback, the only keys that I have will NOT work in that lock cylinder. I have had a Locksmith make a new key for the ignition but it wont work either. In order to change out that lock cylinder the key must allow the lock cylinder to rotate to the accessory position in order to access the detent that has got to be depressed to free the previous lock cylinder in the steering column cast collar, that also was attempted by the local locksmith to no avail. If I had the abbility to rotate that lock cylinder I would have had the car in service two(2) weeks ago. Other than the lock cylinder NOT accepting a key the rest of the linkage within the column is pretty well worn and warrants replacement also.
Thank You, I appreciate your concern..."Garv".....kafrompa

Pulled the lower dash off, removed the radio bezel to get it ready for the new stereo, painted the old 6x9 speaker covers and installed them with the new 6x9 speakers.

I keep thinking about doing some work on it like rebuilding my ac/heater box than I think about all the other things I'd like to do while I'm in there and I get overwhelmed. and I don't have any money to order any other parts for some of the other projects I'd like to do on it... so I just walk past it and sigh...

Well yesterday I went to get the car re-titled since it hasn't been tagged since 1993 and it still had my dads name on the title. They gave me a non-lien transfer form for my dad to fill out so I'd have no taxes to pay. So if all goes well my car will at least be completely legal for the street even though it's not quite ready mechanically.

I opted not to use old plates though. Here in Tn you can register an old plate but the car can only be driven on the weekends. Figured I might want to drive it a little more than that.

i did the same thing here... i traded vehicles with my parents, thats how i got my comet. and i also went with regular plates... can't give the 5-0 a reason to pull me over. I wanted to be able to drive when i want as well. i live out in the williston area and the cops are just itch'n to give tickets out here.

I have 1970 plates on my 69.5 Maverick. In Ohio you are only supposed to drive it to car shows or the mechanic (which is me). I drive the heck out of this thing because the cops get a kick out of seeing it and trying to figure out what it is!!!!
