A locksmith can get that broken piece out and make you a new key! No need to use an original locking cap for a paperweight! :thumbs2:

The "gas cap" part is gone. This is just the outer piece. Nothing looks broke though. Not sure how the cap part attached. I read here before Comet locking caps are pretty hard to come by. Shame it's not in one piece.

Kind of looks fixable. Probably need a donor cap though.

There is a piece that attaches to that piece, they are removable so that you can service the gaskets or something At least most of the Ford ones I've looked at the bottom piece is removable.

:) Used an All A Dollar hot wax and wash by hand in the cold last night drove it to work in a medium fog. I had to drive it to work, I just had too!

Finished the front suspension and got it back down on the ground temporarily. Now on to the 9" in the rear! BTW, Rode's Restoration is where to go if you're going power steering.

Headliner arrived in the mail.. Says for a 1970, hope it fits mine lol. Also ordered a couple things off eBay lastnight.. Worked on the driver side quarter, had it nearly perfect without and filler and then just went a little too far in one spot, blew through, replaced that section again.. Started on the wheel well housing, got half of that done, going to get the quarter drop in before I start anymore wheel well work (Sunday) and hopefully hang the next section of quarter panel..time to go spend time with the woman.

I started rethinking my stock steering wheel since the horn doesn't work. Looking at other options. My LDO comet has a nice one but the blue is worn off the wrap. Still thinking.

Drilled the spot welds out of the right torque box ,separated the frame and pulled out the remaining pieces of old nasty rusted up torque box steel!
