Hope you didn't really use a #6AWG wire or your tires wont be the only thing burning out...

I should find the thread on the Bronco forums I used to read... It was called like doin it the ARMY WAY or something. Installed his own custom Dual battery set-up with bungee cords and undersized wiring. Swore up and down his wiring was right and posted up a electricians chart for selecting residential wiring.

A month later he posted pictures of his Bronco nearly burned to the ground.

A couple years ago at a car show a guy was showing me his son's car and saying how he couldn't keep the battery charged. He had a 100 amp alternator and the dad installed a 12 AWG charge wire. I explained that he needed to go much bigger. He told me "That's why I used 12 guage stranded wire, because it can handle more current". LOL, I just gave up and walked away. :hmmm:

The cap can't close if the gas nozzle is there. My Cuda cap has a spring latch that holds it open. I thought about mounting it sideways, didn't like the look.

Looking back i should have done that instead of just the front. Pretty straight forward.....cut old out and put new in! Lots of welding too....

Funny seeing this thread as today is the first time I've logged in for some time. I just started turning wrenches again on my Maverick last weekend! Today I installed a new 3 row radiator and transmission cooler.
