I have it almost fully excavated from all the crap that found it's way on or around it while the landscaping and shed were in progress. I was actually able to open the hood tonight!!!!

Went to drive it and found the drivers side floorboard full of water.

I have already fixed the leaks in the cowl vent area. I guess it's time to tear something else up.

    yuck. front window seal, maybe?

and just to remain relevant to the thread.. for once.. all I did was clean off the snow since I don't have space to start on my GT yet. Now I need to get it covered up since it's been drwaing the "winter project" vultures already. 2 guys in the last 3 weeks have stopped to try and buy it off me. They didn't bring nearly enough money with them either. lol

Today I pulled an ungodly amount of **** out of my engine bay, half the hood latches, interior, and trunk area. Then I took my handy dandy hammer and pounded out all four side marker lights. Removed the antenna, mirror, some bull**** hoodscoop the previous owner had added. Removed the windshield wiper tank and most of the hoses, and the coolant tank+bracket.

Tommorow Im gonna strip the engine down to the block, try and remove the ebrake assembly, drop the exhaust from the manifold back, finish stripping a few small things (some moudlings, logo), and trace this wierd ass knob thats in my car on the far right. Oh and probably remove the charcoal canister/etc as Ill be dropping the stock fuel system out of this car)

Goal for this coming few days of break I have is to have the car stripped of all its non-essential bull****.

Hopefully they were already broken or unusable. Those are getting hard to find in good shape, and there are members here looking for those pieces. Something you may want to consider before trashing any other parts that you may not want. I believe there was a guy outside of Red Deer, AB looking for them.

The same guy had this ad up. I don't see the "Wanted" ad anymore.

    Good Luck with your build.

you can get the side marker lenses as a new reproduction from mexico fairy cheap. I got a set and they are awesome!

Those metal brackets are getting hard to find. I thought I got a pair from one guy, and they turned out to be two drivers side ones :/
Probably gonna have to fab up the passengers side now. If dude wants a drivers side bracket, I've got one. (y)

There was a set of NOS brackets on ebay a few days ago...

Removing them with a hammer would likely destroy all of the parts. The lenses are reproduced, but are the housings repopped, too?

    Cant Wait!!

I haven't been able to do anything to mine for 5 months now :( But Ill be home next monthish, and I have a whole mess of parts that will be waiting!....distributor, ignition, carb, all new brake hardware, shift kit, carpet, new floor shifter, headliner, door panels. I'm looking forward to tearing everything down, cleaning up the engine bay, making the interior not so depressing to look at. I still need to order all of the weather stripping seals (doors, front and back glass, trunk) because right now I start panicking every time I even see a hint of rain. I'm also going to start on the body work, even though I honestly don't know much about it, oh well. I need to figure out how to repair my grabber hood as well....side note...always triple check that the hood is fully latched before taking any friend out to show off

Cleaned up the garage, was sick of it and couldn't take it any longer. Ive gone through everything organized it, and swept. Just a few touch up things to do, and I can not freak out about walking over and around everything.

I found a few things that need to go to the sandblast and get powder coated.

three of the lenses were already broken. the metal brackets were fine though, I might be learning alot but Im already pretty handy with a hammer haha, one hit took each one out. Ill have to make a Build Thread/For Sale thread as I have a LOT of parts Im removing that might be something someone is looking for. Id probably give most of it away but hey.

Today I pulled the Valve cover, and the carb, the charcoal canister, ignition coil, dist cap (have to get a wrench for the rotor). Plus a few more odds and ends like the front liscence plate bracket a bit more trim (In awful condition)

I got halfway through pulling the heads before I said something like "Expletive this expletive im not expletiving gonna be able to expletiving do this to all the expletive bolts" Tommorow Im buying a big breaker bar :D

Inside the valve area is SUPER clean for a high mileage engine. When I pulled the plugs there was oil on them though... guess Ill see whats up tommorow...

dont mind the snow, its in an unheated garage and I need to grab an adaptor for my 220 Volt space heater while I get the breaker bar.
