The first one i got for 500.00 and it was bodily in rough shape, but it ran solid enough to get me home. Since then it has become a parts car. The second one I paid 700.00 for and it's in smooth running inspectable condition besides a few minor cosmetic issues.

I enjoyed reading these stories except say that the 3 Mavericks I have in my collection ( 2 Stallions and a 76 L.D.O with less the 18k original ) cost me more than $20k including shipping! I wouldn't trade them for the cash back though

Bought my 1973 LDO in 9.5 out of 10 shape in fall of 2007 for $2800.

$4500. May seem like a lot but it was well worth the price.

800 bucks, the body's not in great condition, but it runs pretty good. I just wish my dad didn't need to drive it into work everyday so that I could putz around with it more.

My 1976 Comet is my second Maverick/Comet. I paid $200 ,that is after i talked down old Mrs. White from $300. I bought it in 1993 and it's been running ever since (except in the winter). It's the best $200 i ever spent!:thumbs2::jumping:

My dad paid $600 with a few cosmetic problems, week later some kid ran into it on a "Snapper", which is like a Gator (those little mini jeep things used on dairy's or whatever really.) Well, he didn't admit to it but it had the red paint on the big dent on the front left quarter panel. Other than that the engine was fine until my dad let it sit for a year or 2. That's when I decided it was mine and I was going to work on it.

Paid $400 for my 75 comet. Fixed a gas line to get it started. When I started out it blew the brake line to the right of the rear. So I held the e-brake handle to get it to the nearest auto parts store. It must have been my lucky day, cause the guy at the counter had worked on my Comet for most of it's life. He grabbed some tool to let me borrow. After fixing 3 brake lines and another gas line I drove it over 100 miles to home. Straight 6 runs so smooth. The steering was wacked though. I was wandering about 150 degrees at the wheel so I kept it under 55. Needs some work. Drivers side torque box is week, needs a gas tank, and hand size hole behind the drivers seat. Also, need rear quarters.

$200, he was asking $500 but sold it to me cheap because I work with his son and Im intending on restoring it, not running it til it dies and junking it.
