My 74 Comet cost me $300-minus engine/tranny but with a good set of aluminum wheels from a guy who has a small junkyard. My 74 Maverick cost me $350 minus engine/tranny but with a good set of aluminum wheels from C. Deal here on the board. The engine I plan to use, 5.0, is in a 84 T Bird we bought for my oldest son, $500, he ragged it out and wouldn't repay us so I repoed it [ Long story why] . My tranny comes from a 77 Granada that was wrecked, rolled over on it's top ,with only 77,000 auctal miles on it, I paid $200 for it for the engine, 351W which is in my 84 4X4 pickup.

I bet there aren't many Mustangs purchased for these low prices!

$100. 6 cyl auto, no driveshaft, no carpet, no front seats. Multiple rust holes in every place that could possibly hold water. I just wanted it for the shell, so that was a good price for me.

Paid 4250.00 for mine on November 15, 1975. It was in showroom condition, cause that's where it was, in the showroom, awaiting me to pick it up,, new. That of course is for the good stallion. The rest have all been purchased for $200.00 - $1500.00 and in various shapes of disrepair.

I paid $2500 for mine 7 years ago. I've only put 8,000 miles on it since.

Hello I got my 70 2DR Mav for free from my Dad but he payed like $50 for in about 17 years ago and drove it home but it had not grill or bumper.

I got the 73 2DR Mav for $250 for parts about a year ago

I have now slowly collected 90% off the part I need to put the 70 mav together.

I am hoping to have the 70 mav running by this summer at lest to the point where i can move it around in the yard.

My wife's great grandmother bought mine new in 1973 from LaPorte Ford in TX. I still have all of her old paperwork including the receipt for purchase.

She drove it into a garage banging up the right fender and door, and decided to stop driving. They put her in a nursing home soon thereafter, and the car sat in her garage for about 15 years, with 55,000 miles on it. This is literally a "granny driving to church and grocery store" car.

She passed away, the car sat in a barn for a year, before her children let me have it for $600. Running 302, c4, column shift, decent paint, immaculate interior. Shiny ugly big bumpers.

I had to rebuild the carb to get it inspected, and since have added 150HP and quite a few mods, including about 6 different colors of paint and bondo to fill in some of her dings.

Fun car...great addiction. My mother told me last weekend when I took her for a ride "son, it is better to be drinking beer laying on the floor under your car than drunk sitting at a bar away from home!" WAIT, that didn't come out right :16suspect

    Update

So I didn't know we were saying what we paid for past cars. In that case....

The first 76 Comet with a V6 and 105,000 miles I paid $200. I later found out it was extremely rusted and in no real condition to drive. Also the freeze plug was leaking and oil was leaking into the spark plugs. Lots of problems. So I sold it to my friend for $200. We were almost not friends after that.

The second 76 Comet(the current) was $2500 from Ohio. Still have it(y)
