after a 9hr drive one way i gave $75 for my 70.when i got it,it was just an empty shell.no glass, doors, wiring fenders, hood, trunk lid,interior...nothing,just a stripped out shell.didn't even have a center chunk in the axle.$6,200 later it's a blast to drive, but still needs paint.worth every penny.i would/plan on finding another one in the near future.

I bought my '77 v8 2-door bucket seat car for $1600, it turned out to have a decent amount of rust on it, I got a running '74 4-door 302 car for $150, and then finally my wonderful '71 for $3,350 in 2005.

I bought my 70 Maverick with 80,000 miles on it for $800.00 in 1999. No rust, one dent in the door and drove it daily for 3 trouble free years. Now being restored, disc brakes, 9" rear axle, V-8 and AOD added. I paid $100.00 in 2000 for my sons 69 1/2 and it came with a 77 V-8, PS, PB rustfree parts car. I have about $4500.00 total invested in it completly restored. I bought my 77 this past summer, 50,000 miles, all original for $950.00. Couldn't leave it alone. So far I added bucket seats and am currently switching to small bumpers.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
My dad paid $150 for it...when he got it it had a performer intake,289 heads and a holley and extra gauges...then he sold it...then the people who bought it from him gave it back for free..then 10 years later i got it for free.

$2200 on eBay back in November 2003 and $450 to have it trailered from NC to my house in GA. Didn't run and was a 6-cylinder bench seat car ... but was originally from California and didn't have a speck of rust on it!

Original post when it was finally delivered ...

Wow I'd of never guessed that a 76 Stallion ran $4200 in 1975. Dad's 72 Grabber V8 was $2400 in 72 that almost double the price. But his was a stripped down model, so I guess it's all relative

My First Maverick that I owned but didn't really get on the road was a Red and black 1972 Grabber that I got for free from my Dad, he talked me into selling it and I have regretted it everyday since. The first 1970 Mav I bought was a I6 250 (that came out of a Van or something) with a Mustang II auto trans and V8 rear. Paid somewhere around $700 for it I think. Drove it for a couple years then a buddy from highschool that had a V8 Maverick that he built called telling me he was selling and I had always told him I wanted first shot at buying it. He had a 302 with Boss 4 barrel intake, Mild Cam, Lots of Chrome and polished aluminum engine dressup parts, Bucket seat from a Monza, Hurst Dual Gate shifter with a built c4 Tranny with a shift kit, Mustang hood scoop with the turn signals in the back of the scoop. Was Blue with Blacked out grill and bumpers, magnum 500 rims with really wide rear tires I think they were close to 10 inches and 8 inch on the front. That car hugged the road with those wide foot prints. Full gauges and a killer Stereo. I think the rear had lower gears than stock but still very streetable. That was the best car I ever bought and drove and I really wish I could have that car back. Now I just Paid $4500 for the yellow car in my Avatar. It's a I6 200 C4 Tranny pretty much bone stock and in very good, show car but not winning showcar condition. I use it as a Daily driver and take it to the shows on the weekends when I have time.

    6. 1972 Grabber 302/C4 floor shift bucket seat car (parts car, lots of rust)...... $45- that's what the guy thought it would be in scrap :D
