I now where those two are also. Rare or not I still want a sprint and a stallion to put in the barn next to my Grabbers

Mavericks are definitely better sleepers than Mustangs. When you have a Mustang, and even a Saleen, people don't really bother to come over and talk about it because they are so cookie cutter. When I had my '71 Grabber that ran 11.5's I would have several people to come over and check it out. Not that I like to be a showboat about it, but the fact that it was cool meeting other Maverick fans and people that were just interested in the setup. So, I know that the Sprint will have it's day someday. I just might have to get the setup going in my Mustang until I can get the Maverick ready with some subframe connectors and maybe a 6 point or something. We'll see.

The Sprint is a survivor and was your first car...
    Don't race it!
Just sell one of your run of the mill Fox bodies and get a plain jane Maverick shell to race.
I won't cost you much more and you have the satisfaction of saving both the Sprint and your Saleen, while getting rid of the afforementioned Fox with bad subframe box.

The funny thing about Sprints for me is that I have seen more in junkyards than out, so they gotta be sorta rare.

I'd find a notch back Fox Body to race. I'd fix the Sprint up into a nice cruiser and make the Saleen a daily driver.

Hey 87 i saw you race your Saleen at International i think. you should make the maverick the drag car. i would love to see it, and just for fun run against your car. My car is just a 76, 302.

I am a big fan of the Foxbody Stangs, But there are a lot of them in wichita, few "nice" Mavericks or Comets, make the pop. bigger.

I wouldn't drag a Sprint! Find some normal Maverick to drag.

Yeah, that was me. I also owned a '71 Grabber that was stripped and caged with 10.5 slicks and a 393W with a C-6. I ran it around the 2001 and 2002 timeframe. It was brown with black. I sold it to fund other projects. I don't know what I'll end up doing with the Maverick Sprint. I wanted to drag it but the wife wanted to "pimp" the Sprint out with nice paint and interior and some 18" Saleen wheels or something. Oh well, it's only money right?

What a shame if you tear up a nice 70's car. These things are getting so rare, and I think in the next 10-15 years your going to see a big price spike for them.

I dont think mustangs will ever go up alot in price. Ford has tried to make the mustang everyone's car. Its a family car 6cly, its an economy car 4cly, its a sports car V8. and ford made 10 God-billion of them.

I don't see it a shame to modify or "tear up" a 70's car. To me, a Maverick is not going to go up in price. They are plentiful. So are the Mustangs. Even though the Sprint is semi rare, I doubt they are worth much even in 15 years. They are no Willys coupe. There are so many rare Mustangs that they will see higher prices. The Saleens are going up in price as we speak. The Saleens, Steedas and pace cars, Cobras and such are already going up in price. Where is the Maverick? I don't see any high dollar mavericks even after 30+ years.

I have to disagree with you on this. These cars will never see Mustang prices but they are however increasing in value as we speak. The big reason behind it is due to the fact that other Fords have skyrocketed so much. People are having to fall back to what's the next thing available. That's where our Mavericks come in...they are next. This shows up in the fact that there are more and more Mavericks in magazines, more parts on eBay, nos parts going thru the roof, and this club growing like wildfire. There was actually a stock 77 Comet that went through Barrett Jackson recently (I think for $10,700). You say they are plentiful and sure there are still a lot of them around if you look hard enough...but go to a car show and count the Mavs in it. Go to an All-Ford car show and count the Mavs. Very few unless you have a Mav club meeting. They are few and far between. I am a certified auto appraiser for Auto Appraisal Group and mark my words, in the next 4-5 years (if that long), these cars will be doubled in price. The nice $10K cars you see now will easily be bring 20K plus. Better get them while you can! ;)

Wait a min!!!, I never said mavericks would see mustang prices, I said they will rise in price.

And "no" mavericks are not plentifull as you think, these cars are disappearing fast. Also the rate of climb for just about any 70-74 cars is getting ridiculous. With the way these cars are disappearing, and becoming rare, People are in the market for an affordable muscle era car without having to spend 20 grand.

I would question any late 80's saleen going up in price as we speak. According to NADA your wrong

My bet would be on something in the muscle car era....
