I went back and looked at your combination, I thought it was just a Performer instead of the RPM version. I'll have to raise you to about 390 HP and correct the torque to 435, had my numbers backwards:tiphat:

ok, I'm gonna guess also, I think it'll make 370hp and 389 torque

I think you guys are all high. The torque is going to be low because it has only 8.7:1 compression. I would say probably less than 350 ft lbs and maybe as much as 360 hp. (at the flywheel)

That's what I was thinking ... limited by the compression.

I think some guys are guessing to high......but then again some are guessing to low.....

so lets say a race 347 running 11 to 1 hits 550 hp drop it 3 points that is a 12 percent power decline that is 62hp(quick math) this motor is still gonna see 385plus hp unless there is somthing wrong else where....

the motor i am building has 14to1 comp ratio....with a flat top piston and 38cc cghamber heads.....high comp ratio w/ good flame travel and quench ran on e85 should be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

    550 - 62 = 488 hp ???

The drop in compression of 3 points from 11 is 27.2727% but his compression is only 8.7.
    That makes it a 3.3 drop from 11 for a 30% drop
since hp = Pressure x Stroke x Area x Number of power strokes per minute/33000, if you drop the pressure by30% you are going to get a reduction of 30% in power.
That is an engineering formula and does not include losses but it is fairly accurate for 100% volumetric efficiency without calculating losses for water pump, oil pump, and alternator.
The original poster is running a 331 which is another 4.7 % drop in cubic inches.
34.7% drop from 550 is 358.15 hp......... gotta be a lot closer than 385hp.
Without all the math my guess was 360.... I guess we will know after the dyno run.

Yep you can have too little power or not enough traction but there is no such thing as too much power..... :yikes::chirp:

Lol, i got my numbers from a Desktop Dyno, But i put a bunch of timing to compensate for the low comp.

I dont think your tuner will go that wild, especially since its a future SC motor.

mo has a programable msd. so on the dyno the timeing will be locked out and set at a static number. probly 34 degrees. we will be able to advance and retard it to see the effect. then when we put it in the car we can program the timing curves and tune them as needed. then a boost timeing retard factor can be added for the supercharger.

key word was race motor his is a solid street motor.....:Handshake

I helped dyno quite a few engines from 2000to 2005 until my friend Red who owned a machine shop but a 357 revolver to his head and said goodbye to the world....

So I feel confident in my estimate.....

It really comes down to how well it was assembled and machined....past that his specs should put him some where around my original post 385-to 405hp give or take 10hp.....
