to mr. Book I was not talking about my car ,I just though of strange question to ask since I did not see any posted like that before. If I can even get my car to hook up in the rear I will be happy
Agreed!!! lol Ive seen it lift, but never like that. Course, Im not there all the time either.. Id like to see it go up that high
Dont have any in the mav as its not finished have some videos and pics of the Mustang doing it wrong..LOL before I got used to it..But then I got the chassis figured out and got it to dangle the tires for 30 to 40 ft then set them down and go..Its alot faster that way...ROFL....
The only way my comet would lift is with a Jack! heck i'm doing good right now, to get the rear end to squat on acceleration
I didn't mean to imply that you were talking about your car - it just wasn't made clear that you were talking about someone else's car. The reason for my comments is because of a quote from one ex-member, "Mavcrazy", who stated, "Ok never did think i would have to ask this myself, does anyone else have trouble keeping the front wheels of there mav on the ground. if so and you fixed it what did you do. reason i ask i was at a stop light lastnight and when the light fliped green you know the rest and when i kicked into coming out the light it lifted on me and carry about 20ft with the front wheels off the ground about 12 inchs." In THIS THREAD. (entertaining reading for those who haven't had the pleasure)
MR RICK BOOK,,, by the way how is that Chevette doing? You still having problems with the flat spots on front tires with the hard landings? I wish I had that problem,,,sorta,,,kinda,,, naw, but would like to pull one good one!! Wheelie that is!
Huh, Rick, if you're watching the wheel stand of a car you're racing, doesn't that mean he left on you? couldn't resist it my dear friend.
It took me a while, but I learned to "shift, not lift". Only then was I able to harness the 95FWHP to a degree of control. Real men know know how to master the power. Yes, I have to give a 4 second head-start on a lot of "wheelie" hot-rods in bracket racing.
Most "wheelie" cars do leave before me as they usually have a 1/4 to 3/4 second head start on me...around here the lower a car goes into the 5's the less you see them doing wheelstands...suspensions aren't setup for it and wheelie bars help to keep the power in a forward horizontal position versus an upward vertical position. I have no doubt I could "detune" my suspension and take the wheelie bars off and carry the front end a tad
