woh there boys! what you think i am magic ? right now 3 inch cowls is all i can do. and all that i have molds for now. however since there are a high intrest in decklid / trunks that would be something intresting. with intergrated spoilers.. hum something to think about? but remember what about the fender extentions? what about just spoilers? cuz i got one of those i can mold. also i need a trunk to mold... anyone in so cal got on laying around?
got 1. fits good. look at "Paint Job Finished". came from us body. got frt & rear bumpers and trk lid from unlimited products. no problems. don't know what all the stink is about them.
yes around there. and thanks 245/40-17 and 255/45-18 on the rear. here better pic http://mmb.maverick.to/attachment.php?attachmentid=5631 if i did do a trunk.. yes it would look the same. again right now i only have hood in production. if you really want one (hood) e-mail and we will figure out what needs to be done.
If my Comet looked that good, I would drive it every day that it did not rain. If you have 255/45 I should be able to put 255/50/17 on the rear. I don't think that 245/40 will fit the front. It might be to wide.
' the 255/50-17 will fit on the rear. a 245 on the front will fit as long as you don't go any wider then a 4 inch backspace on a 7 incher.
I have already messed up. My rims are 17x8 with 4.5 backspace. I have to use a 1/4 spacer. That's why I don't think 245/40 will work. That's the smallest the new Crager rims come. I had to have them. It also comes in 18x9, but I could not get enough room to get it under the car...Unless I four link the rear. That cost to much right now. Maybe later. The 18x9 also have 5 inch backspace, I could have got a compan here to put some extra material to make it a 4.5 backspace. I would also have to move the gas tank to the trunk. I'm going to that anyway.
bummber.. but at least you got what you wanted! what do the wheels look like? btw the CF hood would look great with this set up!
'glass hood..... A fellow racer up in Fort Smith, Ar sold one to another racer friend of ours that has a '72 Maverick bracket car. Hood is nice! Probably best one I've seen yet, and they told me that it could be had in Carbon too. Might try to look him up and ask him. Just call Pro Speed in Fort Smith, Ar and ask for Vance...ask about fiberglass hoods and maybe he can help you out. Thinking about calling myself. That steel hood is hard to take off each run to fill the fuel tank. Not heavy, just bulky.
I guess you need parts to mold stuff eh? When I think of an aftermarket spoiler, I think of something a little bit taller than the stock ducktail... Not huge or anything, just a little more aggressive, and molded into the lid rather than tacked on. Apparently this presents you with the problem of making a mold from scratch and designing quarter extensions... The hood is beautiful. If you could do other stuff in glass or CF, I am sure it would be nice. How did you get the mold for the hood? Did you mold a stock hood with the cowl mounted to it? Just curious. I have been thinking about making a mold for glass. I do that alot though... make grand plans, but never follow through. Dave
Crites http://www.critesrestoration.com/mustang.htm Crites was by far the least expensive and good quality.... underside not the prettiest but the rest of the fit and finish were about the best... bolts to the stock hinges and latch & was actually the cheapest ive seen dont know about the shipping though. it was on a car I was lookin at a few years back.... I enquired about them and the guys there were more than nice about answering my ques...Ive dealt with them years ago about some stuff for my galaxie and their prices were fair too. good luck...I dont remember if the scoops were removable or not anymore...thats all i can remember.
