You can't fit steel stubs to an aluminum shaft. I don't like aluminum shafts because there is no aluminum alloy that will hold up over time. All aluminum alloys work harden and begin to fail from the first use. It may take 5 years or 5 months but the aluminum shaft will fail. The molly tubes used in steel driveshafts does not work harden but you can damage them too. At least it takes more to damage the steel shafts than it does the aluminum shafts.
I guess you missed the part of my post you quoted in parenthesis just after "Ditto, The 79-2004 Stang driveshafts are the same length" You know, the part about "plus or minus less than an inch" ?
You can check any local heavy duty truck shops, too. The local truck shop that does my engine machining also makes custom drive shafts, didn't find that out until after I had bought mine. Instead of trying to inventory shafts for all the different big trucks and get them back on the road quickly they just make them right there.
