Would 2-1/2" siamesed exhaust be enough flow for my setup?

    Bryant, that is why I was thinking of capping off one side of my exhaust right at the downturn. I figured it would act the same way, go through the flowmaster, back to the H-pipe, then out the other side to exhaust.

    i would worry about how that method will created different back pressures for each side of the motor. im sure it will run but i suspect could creat a vibration from half the motor being choked down.

    My truck drowned so bad I stopped driving it. Then I got bored and cut the pipe at the muffler. and just tried different length pipes until it went away. It runs out just in front of the rear tire like lightnings do. It started when I had I a new flowmaster installed and put it about a foot closer to the engine than the flowmaster he replaced,same size and series.

    Flowmasters = drone.

    I tried running tailpipes when I got my 89 5.0, it didn't help the drone. If anything it moved the noise out from under the car, but would still drive me crazy at light throttle, about 2,000rpm. Got rid of the flowmasters, welded in hookers, and it still rumbles, but no drone.

    yes, new mufflers. I got you guys. But not until I experiment with the ones I have.

    Wouldn't take me 20 minutes to cut these off and weld in some others, but that takes all the fun out of playing Mr. Scientist!

    If I didn't want to experiment with the car, it would have been done and painted about 4 years ago!

    OK...on my drive to work today, I decide that if this little experiment doesn't work, I will just cut the 44s out and stick in a couple 18" glasspacks.

    I always liked the sound of 'packs...

    I really like this idea! It's like the 'old school' method of sound cancellation :clap:
