So far, I've been amazed at the amount of people that have called me, to tell me about it being in the movie. Maybe all those people only know what a Maverick is, because of me?

I'm sure 90% of the people who saw that movie just assumed the mav was a mustang, just like the rest of the people who see our cars on the street.

And I didn't think the article was that bad, he didn't have anything bad to say about comets:victory:

    Read his bio:

"Jerry Garrett writes about travel, transportation, business, sports, politics, entertainment and an eclectic variety of other topics. A former Special Correspondent for The Associated Press, a producer and director of television programming, and an on-air commentator, he is now a frequent contributor to The New York Times."

He gets paid for opinion. I.e., he is a professional BS artist. Ignore him. If you post a reply on his blog, it will give the impression that his blog is well read. I doubt it is. Leave him and his blog alone. Our lack of response will hurt his blog more than our response.

    Good point Injected Mav.

If you look at this idiot's website, you will discover the depth and knowledge of a true musclecar guy (sarcasm).

Here is a short list of some of the other gems that he has written:

What The Auto Industry Could Learn From Steve Jobs
What Would You Pay for John Lennon’s Ferrari?
On the Road Again: The Art of Doing Nothing
Have You Seen John Malkovich’s Pink Pig?
Booth Babes: Endangered Species at the Auto Show?

Excerpt from the "Booth Babes article: (This guy doesn't like Booth Babes)

"Either way, there seems to be a new emphasis on green at auto shows that is more likely to grow, than fade. Increasing awareness of environmental responsibility, the greater role of women in the car-buying process, the elusive factors that will help restore economic health to the auto industry and bring back buyers – these are fundamental new issues."
    --------------------------

Without injecting anything political into my comment here, I think it's safe to say, that the guy that wrote this terrible article on the 71 Grabber in Fast 5, doesn't know the first thing about these cars and this industry.

What Scooper said. If you watch the video of the test driver, he seemed rather impressed

Ya right! Just because he owned one and had a bad experience with it doesn't make it a bad car. Out of all the cars I have ever owned, the maverick is the one that is always reliable. Sure it does break down, but its almost 40 yrs old! My Mav. runs better then a lot of newer cars I have been in. lol. If this guy was a true car guy, he would know that all cars have their strengths and weaknesses.

The worst thing about that article is the Blue Mav on top of the pile looks to be in pretty good shape.

Just posted my reply on his page. Nothin' wrong with trying to educate a guy who writes without knowledge.
