I have a Holley on my Maverick (since 1988) and although I do like the throttle response (and can't afford a new carb), it definately is a maintainence hassle. It is totally true that if you let the car sit for a year or more, you'll have to go through the Holley again. I'm pretty good at adjusting & maintaining my Holley but for someone who doesn't want the hassle, I would reccomend the Carter also...

: Just some advice for Maverick/Comet owners. I had a Holley that I put on new 11 years back on my 302. It never ran right and always needed ajustment. When I let the car sit for a few years the Holley needed a complete rebuild and a year later needed another accelerator pump. I finally went out and spent the money on a new Carter Carb for it and it purrs. What a difference. It is the best money I ever spent on the car. I tried an Edelbrock which is the same design as the Carter but I had some auto tranny linkage hookup problems. If you need any advice on which Carter model to fit your Maverick or Comet feel free to email me with questions.
: Thanks
