Disc Brake Question

Need to know if you have to use the power brake booster with disk brakes? I have a 73 Mav and want to convert to front discs, just don't really like the idea of going with the power brake booster. Don't like how it looks. Also...anyone know where I can find the power steering brakets for a V8? And what is the difference between the 72 power steering gear box and the 73 manual gear box? They look the same.
