Point one Carol Shelby ever hear of him.

Ford Invented the Pony car.
These would be Comets Mavericks Mustangs Darts and A body Mopars.
the Ford 289 and 302 of their day were better than anything Chevy
or Mopar Had. Dodge just introduced the 300 again, it was a dog in
it's day.

All Chevy and/or Dodge coould do was put Bigger engines in their cars
The Muscle cars were born. They go fast and straight ONLY. Comperable
427s and 428s and 429s in a Mustang of the same era would eat Mopars and
Chevies on race day. During the 1970s, NO engine won more drag races
than the 351 Cleveland. Ford Screwed up by dropping that dsign instead of
refining it.

Two reasons, The metal technology of the day wasn't what it is today and the gas
crisis of the mid 70s.

Ford 460s were trunk motors.

So do Chevies suck - except for the classic Camaro and Vette Yes they suck.
Do Mopars Suck - Yea the styling is lame but the sheer HP is impressive.

Why Ford.

Lighter engines. Yea stock less power but Great looks. Put a
1970 Maverick with the total grabber package next to a Mopar Charger,
Super Bee or Cuda, Hands down the Mave looks better. If the Mav has a
351W with a 428 streetfighter trick and the right gears on a solid wc T5
Most street cars will be best viewed in the rear view.

Look at the Ford and Mercs that have remained collectable
Maverick
Mustang
Cyclone
Comet
Cougar
All sporty cars,

Chevy GM
Camaro,
Corvette,
GTO
Chevell and related 442s

The rest may go fast but look like grocery getters
Novas
Impalas
and so forth.

Mopar

1970 to 1973 Darts Demons and Dusters
Chargers and challengers - but these are boat looking by todays standards

FORD RULES THE CLASSIC ROAD.
