I have recently installed a 250 into my 200 Maverick. But the problem is , the 250 is very tired ( goes through 1 qrt. of oil per 30 miles), so now I figure it is time to just bump it up to a 302. I have all suspension, and steering components. I was told that the 70 was the hardest to install a V8 in because the undercarriage was different front the 71-77, is this true? Now , what kind of V8 mounting brackets do I use? Will 67-73 Mustang brackets fit? I have measured the transmission position and the length of the V8 and the results say I have to move the trans. up about an inch, is this what I have to do or is there a special motor mount bracket like I asked before? And if the trans. needs to be moved forward , how would I mount the tail shaft? Also , will the exhuast manifolds be in the way of the coloumb shifter (I have the 250 style shifter).
