Thanks for the input. Yes I do have a auto trans. and it is possible that the New flywheel was put in by an idiot (me). I am going to get under it and see about that to day
: When I put my engine in, I had a problem like yours. I did not line up the converted drain plug hole with the hole in the flex plate. When I tightened the flex plate, the drain plug bent the flex plate. The starter cranked over the engine and as soon as the engine fired the starter could not disengage from the bent flex plate. Had to replace the flex plate and the starter.
