after you check the dash give us some more feedback, also check your fuse box for signs of heat, melting plastic, some older cars also didn't have fusible links for protect. also check all your wiring for somewhere it may have rubbed it down to the wires. and also where your power plugs into the firewall, corrison causes allot of problems also
