I just found your forum the other day... it looks great and I have already found it very informative.
I came across some info that suggested that the axles and other components off a '95-97 Explorer(rear disk years) were bolt on conversions for a Maveric rear. Anyone ever done this or able to confim or deny this?
I am new to the restoration scene and have a few questions about Possi rears.
I have read (here on this forum) that the Merc capri had a possi rear, but then I read that any rear can be converted using a kit, and probably cheaper than restoring a used rear. Do I have this right? I had planned on finding a five lug rear to replace my four lug(did the front brake swap)... would i be better off going to a Capri rear and rebuilding it or find a plane rear and restoring the putting on possi?
Is the Capri possi rear any different from a Maveric rear with possi added?
