Thanks for the great information! I gave up on taking the dash
out and just settled for the instrument cluster, which was easy.
Now the heater and wiper controls are more accessible, although I
certainly wouldn't say that it's easy to get to the wiper control.
BTW, the temp control lever on my 74 (no AC) has a little tab on
the end, and a coiled wire just slips over it. I can't see that there
was ever a screw or anything to really keep it there.
