: EFI is pricey and timeconsuming, but probably worth it if you drive the car a lot. it gives you better mileage and driveablity than a carb. Carbs work great, though. The 1980s 302s aren't particularly suited to performance use, at least no more than the late 1970s 302s. The EFI on a Crown Vic is not the EFI you would want to use on a Maverick, as it is not mass air. You'd want a Mustang EFI setup. Along with that you'd need a 351W or 302 HO cam to change the firing order.
: I would like to change to EFI someday, but the bang for the buck is in carbs, at least for now. CP
which 302's are the ones that are better suited to performance use?
like from which cars, which years??

: : couriosity questions here guys... combing the junkyard, i found 2 302s (not from mavs or stangs though), both in pretty good condition. one was from an 80's LTD (i think), it was a standard carburator engine. another was a late 80's crown victoria, it was a 5.0 FI engine. i know they make TONS of performance parts for the 302, but which is the way to go, carburator or FI? thanks guys.
