One possibilty is that there is a "light" wire that goes to the radio. If somebody has taken out the radio, they sometime cut this wire and stuff it back under the dash. It sounds like in your description that this only happens when the lights are on. Is this true? This radio "light" wire could be shorting out.

: I love my 70 but I am getting very frustrated with it. I fix one problem now another seems to emerge, my new problem is with the electrical. I don't have a schematic and am in desperate need of one unless any of you could help me out. My problem is : when I seem to go around a turn or bump ,my tailights ,instrument lights go out and my warning lights(if problem is there when starting car) and headlights dim,and what sounds like a frying or clicking sound coming from under the dash, anyone else have this problem? I assume it is a short but my problem is locating it because it doesn't happen all the time, what I have done though is I got the car to do this one night and I shut everything off and the frying was still there, so I also know that it is on the battery side of the headlight circuit, but what wire is which and why isn't it blowing the fuse?Any common points I should look at? Please any help appreciated
